The library was well... a library. Not as impressive as the rest of the building, so at least now we knew where they had to cut on the budget. All things considered, it had books. That's all a library needs, right?
The teacher had a huge pile of books stacked up on the table and we were to check them at the very primitive-looking counter with our new student IDs. She also said it was okay to check out if there were any other books - that was my code for, "Go look for some fantasy books you can read in boring classes."
As I strolled through the shelves, something unbelievably happened. A female came up to talk to me.
